I know firsthand that stepping in front of a camera can feel a little intimidating. Most of us don't automatically know what to do with our hands or how to pose, and that is exactly why I'm here. I’ve spent years perfecting a style of gentle, intentional direction that takes away the guesswork. I will guide you into looks and movements that are natural and flattering, turning what could be a stiff experience into something genuinely fun. My goal is for you to walk away from our time together not just loving your gallery, but remembering how easy and light the entire day felt. There is nothing better than when a client tells me they felt relaxed, had a blast, and are already looking forward to our next session.

My path to photography wasn't a straight line. While pursuing my degree at the University of Minnesota, I spent a lot of time trying on different futures, searching for something that felt right. Through every shift and change of heart, there was one constant that always gave me purpose: capturing people's lives. After graduating in 2019, I looked back at the seasons that brought me the most fulfillment. It wasn't the classroom hours - it was the weekends spent documenting university life and the packed summers photographing couples, graduates, and growing families. Realizing where my heart truly was, I took the leap into full-time photography the following year. But the biggest shift in my career happened when I became a mom. Stepping into motherhood completely rewired how I look through my viewfinder. Suddenly, I realized just how fleeting these seasons are, and I began to cherish the quiet, passing moments so much more deeply. It changed not just how much I value a photo, but how I actually capture them. I find myself looking for the honest, split-second interactions - the way a toddler holds onto your finger, the quiet sigh of relief between a couple, or the proud, unfiltered smile of a graduate - because I know firsthand how much you will want to hold onto those details later.

A perfect photo isn't one where everyone looks like a mannequin; it’s one where you look like you. I don't expect you to walk up to our session knowing exactly how to pose or what to do with your hands. My job is to give you gentle, encouraging direction so you never feel lost, while keeping the atmosphere light and stress-free. When you feel comfortable and taken care of, the natural smiles take care of themselves.
